Dalton Smith vs Jose Zepeda fight date, start time, card, price and odds for 2024 boxing fight

Matchroom heads to Sheffield, where a rising contender in the making, Dalton Smith, faces multi-time world title challenger Jose Zepeda. The fight in the Utilita Arena Sheffield airs on DAZN on March 23.

Smith is considered one of the top prospects in the U.K. The Commonwealth Games medalist is a former British super lightweight champion. The 27-year-old knocked some sense into Sam Maxwell in his last outing in July to win the Commonwealth title.

“Thunder” has made good with his name with eleven wins via the power punch.

Zepeda turned pro in 2009. The California veteran fell short fighting for lightweight and super lightweight gold in three attempts. “Chon” is 2-2 in his last four contests. He rebounded against Neeraj Goyat following a loss against Regis Prograis but couldn’t continue his momentum against Richardson Hitchins in September, losing via decision for the IBF North American super lightweight title.

The co-main event will be a WBO welterweight title fight between champion Sandy Ryan and Terri Harper.

Ryan is coming off a controversial split decision draw against Jessica McCaskill in a unification fight in September. Derby-born Ryan went the distance against McCaskill and felt she did enough to secure the win, as did most of those watching.

Harper turned pro in 2017. “Belter” beat Eva Wahlstrom for the WBC super featherweight title but lost it following a vicious shot from Alycia Baumgardner that stopped her in her tracks. She won three straight after, winning WBA super welterweight gold, before fighting trailblazer Cecilia Braekhus to a draw for the WBA and WBO titles.
