The Yankees and “Seinfeld” are New York institutions — and the Yankees vs. Red Sox rivalry is one of the best in all of sports — and soon all three will share the spotlight at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
“Seinfeld Night” will feature a limited-edition George Costanza bobblehead commemorating the legendary comedy show, with the first 18,000 fans coming away with one at the gates. The night will also include baseball, of course, a pivotal rivalry game between the Pinstripers and the surging Sox.
The Costanza bobblehead features the famed character — who served as the Yankees’ “special assistant to the travel secretary” on “Seinfeld” — sleeping under his desk.

The figurine commemorates the “Seinfeld” Season 8 episode entitled “The Nap.” A Costanza quote from the episode hangs above him, reading “I love a good nap. That’s the only thing getting me out of bed in the morning.”
George Costanza, played by Jason Alexander, is one of the most beloved TV characters in New York history. The 1997 episode features Costanza turning the underside of his work desk into a luxurious nap space, but he nearly gets caught by former Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. Costanza phones Jerry Seinfeld to call in a fake emergency so Steinbrenner (voiced by Larry David) must evacuate the office.
In addition to a fun-filled night of “Seinfeld” surprises, we should be in for quite a game. The Yankees and Red Sox have been battling for AL East supremacy all season, but they’re both trailing the Blue Jays at present. With over 75 percent of the MLB season in the books, every win matters and every rivalry game has even more juice than usual.
One thing’s for sure: a George Costanza bobblehead could be worth some big bucks one day. Here’s how to get the cheapest tickets and best seats for the upcoming Yankees vs. Red Sox “Seinfeld Night” game at Yankee Stadium.
