Yankees vs. Blue Jays live score, updates, highlights from ALDS Game 3 in 2025 MLB playoffs

JUMP TO:

The New York Yankees are on the brink of elimination after losing the first two games of the 2025 ALDS to the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Yankees pitching struggled mightily in Toronto, allowing 23 total runs over the course of two games while losing both games by a combined 15 runs. The Blue Jays offense, led by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Alejandro Kirk, came out blazing despite not playing for five-straight days,

Therefore, the series shifts to the Bronx with New York needing to win three-straight games to stave off elimination. Fortunately for them, they just did something similar last week by defeating the Boston Red Sox while facing elimination in Games 2 and 3 of the Wild Card series despite dropping Game 1.

Carlos Rodon will take the mound for the Yankees, with his last appearance coming in Game 2 of the previous series. The veteran lefty is in his third season in New York, as he went 18-9 with a 3.09 ERA, and already avoided elimination with his Game 2 performance against the Red Sox.

Facing Rodon will be Blue Jays starter Shane Bieber. The former Cleveland Guardians ace was traded to Toronto at the trade deadline and went 4-2 with a 3.57 ERA with the Blue Jays this year in his first action returning from Tommy John surgery.

For the Yankees to keep their season alive, Aaron Judge and company will need to find offense that hasn’t been too prolific in the playoffs thus far. New York scored just one run in Game 1 and was already down by 12 runs when they scored for the first time in a 13-7 Game 2 loss.
