The first thing that stands out about Roc Riggio is his name.
And that’s really the name of this slugging Yankees prospect: Roc Jack Riggio.
It’s a name New York fans should start to remember, because he’s having a huge season.
Riggio, a 23-year old out of Oklahoma State, crushed another homer on Wednesday night. It was his 13th of the season.
Those 13 home runs are the most of any player on a Yankees minor league team this season.

Riggio isn’t thought of as a gigantic prospect, ranking just 24th in the Yankees’ system by MLB Pipeline.
But he can clearly swing it.
His homers this season have actually come across three levels.
He hit one in a brief stint at Rookie ball after injury, then he hit six for High-A Hudson Valley and now has six for Double-A Somerset.
His 13 homers this season have come in just 34 games, and he’s batting .270.
This is by far Riggio’s best minor league season. He was a .221 hitter with 11 homers in 2024 at Hudson Valley, and the year before that, he batted .192 across two levels.
At just 5-foot-9, the second baseman is going to have to hit a ton to eventually make it to the big leagues.
And right now, Roc is raking.
