The New York Yankees went on a tough slump going into the All-Star break that saw the team fall behind the Toronto Blue Jays for first place in the American League East.
The Yankees were leading the division for most of the season until the Blue Jays caught fire and New York went on a six-game losing streak.
If the Yankees want to ensure a playoff spot and hold off the red-hot Boston Red Sox, Brian Cashman will need to seek upgrades at the trade deadline.
FanSided’s Quinn Everts named four trade destinations for Baltimore Orioles All-Star slugging utility man Ryan O’Hearn, including the Bronx.
“He’d be a happy hitter in the Bronx, and he’s mashed against the Yankees in his career, too,” wrote Everts. “Adding O’Hearn wouldn’t be a luxury move, it would be one of necessity for the Bombers.”
O’Hearn, 31, was selected to his first All-Star Game this season after an exceptional first half.

O’Hearn has 11 home runs and 34 RBI while slashing .286/.382/.458 in 82 games in his third season with the Orioles.
Not only would O’Hearn benefit from the short porch in right field, but he can play first base and the corner outfield positions.
It could be difficult for the Yankees to pull off this trade due to being divisional foes, but if New York made it worth Baltimore’s while, it could boost their offensive production enough to make it comfortably to October.
