There’s more clarity on Jazz Chisholm’s injury.
The problem for the Yankees? It’s bad news.
Chisholm spoke with reporters on Saturday about the oblique issue that placed him on the 10-day Injured List.
He has three high-grade tears in his right oblique.
“I’m really surprised with what it said,” Chisholm said. “It doesn’t feel like three. It doesn’t even feel like the first time I tore my oblique two years ago.”

Before Chisholm shared this news, the Yankees had already given him a four-to-six week timeline to return.
Chisholm told reporters he hopes to beat that.
In the meantime, the Yankees are extra shorthanded in the infield. They already had a third base question mark, and now it extends to second base, as well.
The 27-year old is in his first full season with the Yankees after being acquired in a trade last year from the Marlins.
He got off to a blazing start but was in a massive slump before the injury on a swing. He’s got a .181 batting average on the season to go with seven home runs.
Chisholm was speaking after the Yankees’ 3-2 Saturday loss to the Rays. New York is now 19-14 on the season.
