Clint Frazier knows trade deadline rumors.
The former top prospect found himself involved in plenty during his time with the New York Yankees. It felt like he was thrown into every fake trade put out there as people speculated on moves the Yanks could make.
Frazier isn’t under contract with any team at this point, but he chimed in ahead of the MLB trade deadline:
today could finally be my day

Strong sense of humor, for sure.

Frazier was originally the No. 5 overall pick of the 2013 draft by Cleveland. He was known at the time for his lightning-quick hands and muscular forearms, along with a bright red head of hair.
He was only ever traded once, and that was before he was in the majors.
In 2016, Cleveland traded Frazier and three pitchers to the Yankees for Andrew Miller.
Frazier spent five seasons with New York, and despite all the rumors in the world, he was never traded.
He batted .239 in his Yankees career with 41 doubles and 29 homers in 228 games.

The Yanks released Frazier after the 2021 season, and he signed with the Cubs.
In 2022 with the Cubbies, Frazier batted .216 but didn’t leave the yard in 19 games.
In 2023, Frazier latched on with the White Sox and hit .197 in 33 games.
As it turns out, Frazier never lived up to the hype.
Now 30, Frazier is out of baseball. He played in the independent Atlantic League in 2024, hitting .257 with six homers in 44 games for Charleston. And that’s it.
But as he writes, maybe today is finally the day.
