Yankees fans react with mixed feelings on Aaron Boone contract extension

Aaron Boone isn’t going anywhere for the immediate future.

As expected, the New York Yankees manager officially agreed to a contract extension that will run through the 2027 season, the team announced Thursday.

Boone has a 603-429 (.584) record as manager of the Yankees with a 22-23 record in the postseason. The Yankees haven’t won 100 games in a season since 2019. But they have finished in second place or better in the division in all but two of his seasons.

Boone currently ranks seventh all-time in franchise history with 603 wins and is eighth in winning percentage. His 174 games over .500 ranks sixth. He also has the most ejections for a manager in Yankees history with 39.

Boone led the Yankees to their first World Series appearance in 15 years, ultimately losing in five games to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The reactions to the contract extension from Yankees fans were mixed, to say the least.
