Kansas City went three-and-out on its opening drive against the Chargers, but that wasn’t the biggest concern to open the game. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy, who is set to play a key role this season, had to leave the game early with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.

Xavier Worthy injury update
On the third play from scrimmage, Xavier Worthy ran into tight end Travis Kelce as the two were running crossing routes. Worthy instantly went down in pain, and he needed help to get off the field as he seemed to injure his right shoulder.

Worthy immediately went back to the locker room to be evaluated further. After the Chiefs announced that Worthy was initially questionable to return to the game, but they later ruled him out for the game after further evaluation.
