The Washington Wizards’ G League team just got better.

This weekend was the G League Draft. Eligible players were guys who are signed to G League contracts but not yet affiliated with an NBA team.

The Wizards’ affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, had three of the first six draft picks, a chance to load up.

At No. 3, they chose Ace Baldwin.

At No. 5, they went with Nolan Hickman.

And at No. 6, it was Cam Carter.

Baldwin is an exciting lefty guard who began his college career at VCU before finishing it at Penn State. He was a two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year.

Hickman is a point guard from Gonzaga. He put up 10.9 points and 2.3 assists per game in 2024-25 after averaging 14.0 points per game the year before.

Carter is yet another guard. He went to Oak Hill Academy in high school before playing at Mississippi State, Kansas State and LSU.

All three of these guys are more likely than not to just settle in as G League players over the next few seasons.

But the Wizards certainly felt the Go-Go could use some guard depth, and maybe one will eventually break through for more.
