London will be the focus of tennis fans once again as it’s set to host the 138th edition of Wimbledon beginning Monday, June 30.
Carlos Alcaraz comes into this year’s tournament as the two-time defending champion, with the Spaniard hoping to further cement his legacy by winning Wimbledon for the third successive year.
However, he will not have an easy pathway to a second grand slam of the season as he will have to compete with the likes of World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, and local favorite Jack Draper also vying for the title.
On the women’s side, it is a competitive field with no odds-on favorite. Having recently won the French Open, American star Coco Gauff would look to finally conquer the grass court and win her first Wimbledon.
Additionally, World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will be aiming to win her first grand slam of the campaign after narrowly missing out on the Australian Open and French Open titles. Defending champion Barbora Krejcikova surprised many last year by winning Wimbledon, but based on her struggles with injury and form, it will be a tough task for her to retain the championship this year.
