It has been a while since the New York Giants won a football game. They’ve lost six straight games, with their last win coming over the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 9.
They’ll look to snap that streak and get their first win in nearly two months when they take on the Patriots in New England on Monday Night Football. The good news for the Giants is that they’ll have their quarterback back for the game.
Jaxson Dart will play vs. Patriots on Monday Night Football
After missing New York’s last two games due to a concussion, Jaxson Dart has been cleared to return and is expected to start against New England. The rookie quarterback is understandably eager to return for a primetime matchup.
“I’m ready. I’ve been waiting for it,” Dart said of his return. “Obviously these primetime games are the ones you have circled on your calendar. I’m excited to go out there, compete at a high level and do everything in my power to rally these guys to put our team in the best situation when the clock hits zero that we’re going to come out with a win.”
Jaxson’s promising play has been a bright spot in an otherwise forgettable season for the Giants. He began the season on the bench behind Russell Wilson, but he ultimately took over as the starter and has looked good in the role. On the season he’s thrown for 1,417 yards and 10 touchdowns, compared to just three interceptions. He’s also rushed for 317 yards and seven additional touchdowns as he’s shown an ability to be a dual-threat QB.
Will Jaxson’s return be enough to propel the Giants to victory over the Patriots? That remains to be seen. The Patriots have the best record in the entire NFL and they boast an impressive nine-game winning streak heading into the matchup with New York. Knocking them off track won’t be easy.
Whoever wins the game between the Patriots and Giants will take the edge in the all-time series. As it stands, the teams have played 14 total times, with both teams having seven wins.
