The Los Angeles Lakers are just about as shorthanded as can be on Monday night.
LeBron James is out.
Luka Doncic is out.
And among a whole host of other absences, notably Marcus Smart is out, too.
The Portland Trail Blazers will see a very unusual Lakers lineup.

Why isn’t Marcus Smart playing tonight?
Marcus Smart isn’t playing Monday against the Trail Blazers because he’s injured.
Smart is listed as out with a right quad contusion.
Also out are Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, Adou Thiero and Jaxson Hayes.
The remaining active players: Austin Reaves, Bronny James, Dalton Knecht, Jake LaRavia, Jarred Vanderbilt, Rui Hachimura, Deandre Ayton and the three two-way guys: Chris Manon, Christian Koloko and Nick Smith Jr.
Smart will be one of many players in street clothes on the sideline.
The Lakers will hope to get at least a few of the missing guys back on the field soon.
