Why isn’t Erling Haaland playing today?
Erling Haaland has been held out of the Manchester City side for the EFL Cup due to injury.
Haaland picked up a knock over the weekend against Aston Villa, and manager Pep Guardiola said in advance that his attacking star would miss this midweek clash.
The Citizens still have plenty of striking firepower to match up with Swansea, with Omar Marmoush set to lead the line.
Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki are also in the squad to attack, as is the youngster Oscar Bobb.
Swansea enters the cup match currently slotted 13th in the second-tier Championship on four wins, four draws and four losses in league play.
Manchester City should be able to get by the Swans without Haaland, and they’ll just be hoping he can work his way back to the pitch soon enough so as not to miss upcoming matches in the Premier League and the Champions League.
