Von Miller is already set on a course for Canton and the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
But he didn’t retire this offseason after the Buffalo Bills cut him. Instead, he waited for a good opportunity and found one with the Washington Commanders.
He played about 40% of the snaps in their season-opening win over the New York Giants, and he hopes to play more with a Thursday night clash with the Green Bay Packers on deck.
“I’ll be three years removed from tearing my ACL in November,” Miller told ESPN’s Dan Graziano. “I tore the same ACL when I was 24 years old, and I guess I thought it would recover at the same speed it did then, but that wasn’t the case. Now I feel good, feel strong, ready to help this team win.”

Why Von Miller hasn’t retired yet
Miller’s reasoning for not retiring is rather simple.
This is what he shared with Graziano:
“I just love football, man. I love all aspects about it. I love practice, watching film, being in the locker room with the guys. I guess if I got bored, I might want to do something other than this, but so far I haven’t. I just love it.”

He currently ranks 16th on the all-time sacks leaderboard with 129.5. He’s three away from both Lawrence Taylor and Leslie O’Neal.
Miller is also four sacks behind John Abraham, and 6.5 sacks behind Jared Allen.
If Miller put up 8.0 sacks this season, he’d be tied for 10th in NFL history with Richard Dent and John Randle.
