Why Calle Jarnkrok isn’t playing tonight for Maple Leafs with injury news

The Toronto Maple Leafs take on a Canadian rival on Tuesday night.

The Leafs will be at least a bit shorthanded.

Calle Jarnkrok isn’t expected to be available.

They could also be without William Nylander, but that’s more of a game-time decision.

Why isn’t Calle Jarnkrok playing tonight?

Calle Jarnkrok isn’t expected to play Tuesday night due to injury.

He’s dealing with what has been termed a lower-body injury.

Head coach Craig Berube told reporters earlier Tuesday that Jarnkrok “probably won’t be going” against the Flames.

The Swedish forward has played eight games so far this season. He has three goals.

He played just more than 10 minutes in each of the last two Toronto games as they split with the Buffalo Sabres on Friday and Saturday.

Now, though, Jarnkrok is going to be sidelined and will apparently need some time to recover.

Jarnkrok had a limited season in 2024-25, as well, playing just 19 games at the NHL level and accumulating seven points in that span.

The Leafs will hope he can make it back quickly this time around.
