Who won the NASCAR race today? Full results, standings from 2024 Xfinity 500 in Martinsville

The end of the Cup Series season is nigh, but before NASCAR’s top flight heads to the Valley of the Sun for its crescendo, the championship field must be set.

Eight of NASCAR’s biggest and brightest talents entered into the Round of 8 with dreams of grandeur. Only four advanced, with the final two having to wait until Sunday’s race at Martinsville to punch their ticket.

Who reigned supreme at The Paperclip in the Xfinity 500? The Sporting News fills you in on the final results from the Cup Series’ penultimate race.

Who won the NASCAR race today?

Ryan Blaney took home the checkered flag on Sunday, outpacing Chase Elliott to pick up his third win of the year.

Things looked rather hairy for Blaney earlier in the final stage, who fell back after NASCAR controversially went from caution to green then back to caution with Blaney and William Byron at the front of the pack. The decision spit Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott out to the front, putting Blaney and Byron behind the eight-ball.

Blaney overcame the hurdle, slipping beyond Elliott in the final few laps to capture the win at Martinsville — and give himself a chance at back-to-back Cup Series crowns.
