Who will Eagles play in NFL playoffs? Updated potential opponents for Philadelphia in 2025 NFL bracket

Last Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles kept up one of the NFL’s most treasured traditions across the past few decades. The Eagles took home the NFC East title last week, marking the 20th consecutive year that the division’s previous winner failed to repeat as champion.

Philadelphia’s divisional championship also locked them into one of the NFC’s top four seeds ahead of the 2025 playoffs. Along with a divisional title and a top-four seed, the Eagles will host at least one playoff game at The Linc this postseason.

For the most part, the dominos have fallen in the NFC playoff picture. Specifically looking at the Eagles, they have secured the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

The Eagles are locked into the second seed, but their opponent for wild-card weekend has yet to be determined. With one week left in the regular season, here are the Eagles’ potential opponents for the opening round of the playoffs.

Who will the Eagles play in the playoffs?

Having already locked themselves into the second seed, the Eagles will face the No. 7 seed in the first round of the playoffs. At this point, there are two teams battling it out for the seventh slot.

Washington Commanders

Heading into Week 18, the Commanders are the NFC’s sixth seed. However, it doesn’t require an especially improbable series of events for Washington to slip into the No. 7 seed.

If Washington loses on the road against the Cowboys and Green Bay wins at home against the Bears, the Commanders will hold the seventh seed and play the Eagles in the wild-card round.

The Commanders and Eagles have already delivered a classic this season. In Week 16, Jayden Daniels threw five touchdowns, one with six seconds remaining in the game, to defeat the Eagles 36-33 in Washington. Another matchup between these teams in the playoffs would certainly be welcomed by NFL fans.

Green Bay Packers

The Packers currently hold the No. 7 seed and are likely to hold onto this slot. The only way Green Bay moves out of the seventh seed is via the outcome outlined above: Washington loses to Dallas while Green Bay beats Chicago.

Barring these two outcomes, Green Bay will have a date in Philadelphia for the wild-card round. Two of the NFC’s more talented quarterbacks in Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts would square off in what should be a phenomenal battle. Two of last offseason’s premier free agent signings at running back, Josh Jacobs and Saquon Barkley, would also be key pieces in this rematch of a Week 1’s game in Brazil, which Philadelphia won 34-29. .
