Who will become Tottenham’s next manager after Ange Postecoglou’s dismissal

Despite ending a 17-year trophy draught by leading the team to the Europa League title win, Tottenham Hotspur have announced the dismissal of head coach Ange Postecoglou.

In an official statement on Friday, Tottenham referred to Postecoglou’s dismissal as ‘one of the toughest decisions’ by the club while explaining their decision.

“It is crucial that we are able to compete on multiple fronts and believe a change of approach will give us the strongest chance for the coming season and beyond. This has been one of the toughest decisions we have had to make and is not a decision that we have taken lightly, nor one we have rushed to conclude. We have made what we believe is the right decision to give us the best chance of success going forward, not the easy decision,” the statement read.

Postecoglou took charge of Spurs in 2023, and now as his journey there comes to an end, questions have surfaced about who will be the next manager of the north London club.

Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has been identified as the top choice by Tottenham, according to Sky Sports News. The Dutchman has been in charge of the Bees since October 2018 and led the west London side to be promoted to the Premier League in 2021.

Brentford has since been consistently playing in the Premier League. Frank is currently contracted with the Bees until the summer of 2027 and his deal includes a reported release clause of £10 million.

Romano also reported that Tottenham have recently approached Olympique Marseille boss Roberto De Zerbi. However, the Italian has turned down the offer and wants to continue with the Ligue 1 club.

Spurs also reportedly considering Fulham manager Marco Silva and Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola to fill the position.

It remains to be seen who takes over the Tottenham squad in the upcoming season.
