YouTuber and professional boxer Jake Paul has been pretty busy these days. He defeated Mike Tyson in a heavyweight boxing match in November 2024, and he just filmed a reality television show with his family, Paul American, which drops later this week.

After two years into dating, Paul, 28, announced his engagement to Leerdam, 26, over the weekend. It’s not surprising that the couple finally took the step to make things official, as they’ve been hot and heavy since they hard launched their relationship in 2023.

According to Olympics.com, the couple first met on Instagram in 2022, although they didn’t go public with their relationship until 2023. It was Paul who first slid into Leerdam’s DMs.
“Jake sent me a DM on Instagram and asked if I wanted to be on his podcast. And I was like, ‘Okay, let’s do it. Can be good, can be nice,” Leerdam said in the documentary “Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson.“
When the pair first connected, Leerdam said she “never, ever expected to date him, like never.”
However, she ultimately found Paul to be charming, and he made her laugh, which was a bonus.
“We really clicked in these two fast-paced worlds on a deep and super personal level,” Leerdam said.

He added, “So I think everyone in the family had to get used to all of the madness being out there and the drama that comes with it within the family.”
He also dished that filming the show was crazy and “caused a lot of family issues” but confirmed that in the end, “it’s gonna be great.”
