White Sox make Noah Syndergaard promotion announcement

Thor is on his way.

Noah Syndergaard is one step closer to a return to the major leagues.

The former New York Mets star has been promoted to Triple-A Charlotte.

Syndergaard signed with the Chicago White Sox earlier in the season after not pitching in 2024.

So far, Thor had only thrown at the Arizona Complex League in Rookie-Ball.

In four starts in the ACL, Syndergaard had a 2.91 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 15.1 innings pitched.

He arrives at Charlotte out of the All-Star break and will look to prove he can still get the job done one rung of the ladder below the big leagues.

If Syndergaard pitches reasonably well, the White Sox have no reason to keep him in Triple-A for long. They likely will hope to promote him in the next month to give him a month or more at the MLB level.

The 32-year old could prove he deserves another chance in the majors next season. Even if he doesn’t, he’ll likely be a solid draw for fans to come out and watch the one-time star.

Regardless, Thor is trying to make it back, and he’s got a real chance at it.
