Winning a trophy in soccer is something that players and fans will never forget. Whether yours is a team accustomed to winning or one that has gone empty-handed for a century, you never get tired of those celebrations.
To win two in one season, then, is the stuff of dreams. To win three? That’s immortality.
Only a select few football clubs have ever won the treble in European football. In the 2025 UEFA Champions League final, Paris Saint-Germain joined them in emphatic style, under the leadership of a coach in Luis Enrique who knows what it takes.
Here’s a look at all the teams and coaches to have won the European treble — and the only team that has ever managed to go one better.

What is the treble in soccer?
A “treble” can simply mean winning any three trophies in the same football season, but to win the treble, teams have to pull off a particular feat.
In Europe, a club team is considered to have won the treble if they win their domestic league, main domestic cup, and the UEFA Champions in the same season. For example, Manchester United became the first English side to achieve this by winning the 1998/99 Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
Winning the treble is, understandably, incredibly difficult. Only a select few clubs and coaches have ever managed it. Some have done so more than once.
Which teams have won the treble in soccer?
Only 11 teams (nine clubs in total) have ever managed to win their domestic league, main domestic cup and European Cup/Champions League in one season.
Paris Saint-Germain became the 11th by winning the 2025 Champions League final against Inter Milan, who achieved sporting immortality in 2010 by becoming the first Italian treble-winners.
Barcelona and Bayern Munich are the only teams to have won the treble on two occasions.

Has any soccer team ever won the quadruple?
Celtic, the first team to win the European treble, are the only side in history to have gone one better by winning the quadruple.
In 1966/67, the team that became known as the Lisbon Lions won their domestic league, main domestic cup and European Cup, and they also lifted the Scottish League Cup.
League cups only exist in a handful of nations in Europe, so achieving the quadruple is an opportunity reserved for a select few. England, for example, still has a league cup — known as the Carabao Cup for sponsorship reasons — meaning it’s possible for Premier League sides to win the quadruple.

Coaches to win the treble in soccer
In total, nine different coaches have won the European treble. The list includes some famous names, such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, and Celtic legend Jock Stein.
