Former World No. 1 and seven-time grand slam champion Venus Williams will return to action at the 2025 Citi DC Open, which begins on Monday.
The 45-year-old last played on the pro tour 16 months ago, when she competed at the Miami Open in March 2024. She accepted a wild-card into the Citi Open and is set to play in the tournament for the first time since 2022.
With her last title win coming at the 2023 Cincinnati Open, Williams will look to impress in Washington beginning with a first round clash against fellow-American Peyton Stearns.
She will also compete in doubles with Hailey Baptiste.
