The lone loss of Fury’s (34-1-1) career happened in May when Usyk (22-0) beat him via split decision. The Ukrainian landed a knockdown in round nine that almost put Fury away. Before that loss, Fury was the lineal and WBC heavyweight champion.
Fury looks to return to the win column and take back the gold he sought after a miraculous win against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 was cut short following drug and alcohol abuse and mental health issues.
“What I’m going to do is what I did last time, but better and win this time,” Fury told Queensberry Promotions via DAZN. “I’m looking forward to Saturday night and f—— him up. I’m going to make him feel his 37 years for sure, and he’s going to be in there with the Gypsy King, not whoever I was last time out.
“I’m going to end him, the end of his career this will be, you will never hear of Oleksandr Usyk again after this.”
Usyk is a former undisputed cruiserweight champion. He only needed a few fights to conquer heavyweight. After beating Anthony Joshua twice, Usyk now looks to rid himself of Fury’s presence with a definitive second win.
