The USA are hoping to end an eight-year title drought as they take on defending champions Italy in the final of the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Finals on Sunday.
The American team overcame Great Britain 2-0 in Saturday’s semifinals. Emma Navarro and Jessica Pegula battled back from a set deficit to guide USA to their first final in seven years. While Navarro defeated Sonny Kartal 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, Pegula sealed victory with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win over Katie Boulter.
The Italians, meanwhile, were taken the distance by an inspired Ukrainian side. After losing the first singles, Jasmine Paolini kept the team afloat with a hard-fought 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Elina Svitolina. She then joined forces with Sara Errani to win the deciding doubles and take Italy to their third straight final.
