Serhii Bohachuk vs. Mykal Fox is on May 17. The main card starts at 9 p.m. ET. The main event should begin around 11:30 p.m. ET, depending on how long the undercard fights last.
A multi-time amateur champion, Bohachuk (25-2) beat Brian Mendoza for the interim super welterweight title. Last August, he lost the belt and a six-fight win streak against Vergil Ortiz Jr.. The Ukrainian recovered with a retirement win in December against Ishmael Davis.
Now the WBC mandatory at 154, Bohachuk looks to prove gold will come back with him to Ukraine sooner rather than later.
“I feel like I’m the best super welterweight in the world, I’m also very happy to stay active which gives me another training camp with Coach Manny (Robles) and to fight in Los Angeles,” Bohachuk said. “I know Mykal Fox very well and he’s a tough challenge for me but I’m well prepared for May 17.”
Fox (24-2) ended a three-fight losing streak, including a loss against Egidijus Kavaliauskas, by going 2-0 in 2024. The wins also ended a two-year absence from boxing. “The Professor” attempts to enter the top of the rankings by taking out Bohachuk.
