Most Valuable Prospects 15 preview
Paul created Most Valuable Prospects, “a new boxing series created to highlight the next generation of the sport’s best male and female athletes, who all have world title aspirations.”
Cudos (10-0-2) won local gold before the Argentinian beat Maria Sol Baumstarh in April for IBF gold. This will be her first defense of her title. She’ll have her back against the wall as Cudos takes on MVP’s latest signing.
Clavel (21-2) won the WBC light flyweight title in 2022. Since losing the belt in 2023, she’s gone on a four-fight win streak. Outside fighting, Clavel worked as a nurse during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and has appeared on Quebec’s “Big Brother” show.
Montreal’s Clavel looks to prove why she truly is valuable as she headlines a show at home.
“Being the headliner for MVP’s first event in Quebec makes this moment even more special,” Clavel said. “Under the spotlight, I don’t feel pressure — I feel power. I want all of Montreal to come out and show MVP why we are the best city to host big events. Saturday, September 27th will be unforgettable.”
The co-main event will see Tamm Thibeault return to action. An Olympian and multi-time medalist at the amateur level, Thibeault (3-0) has competed in three-minute round women’s boxing fights.
The Canadian competes in a two-minute round bout against former amateur champion Cristina Mazzotta (1-0).
