Where to watch France vs. England live stream, TV channel, start time for Women’s Euro 2025 match

Defending champions England open their Euro 2025 campaign against France in Zurich on Saturday.

Thirteen of the players who were part of the England squad during the 2022 Euro triumph will feature in the tournament in Switzerland. However, some big personalities, like goalkeeper Mary Earps and Fran Kirby have retired since.

England have no new injury concerns following their emphatic 7-0 friendly win over Jamaica, which saw several attacking stars find form. Sarina Wiegman should have her first-choice XI available, as the Lionesses look to begin their title defence on a high note.

Meanwhile, France head into the contest with a settled and confident squad, bolstered by eight straight wins since December, including recent triumphs over Belgium and Brazil.

Manager Laurent Bonadei can call upon key players like Grace Geyoro, who starred in their flawless Nations League campaign. But the French team choosing young guns over veterans for the tournament against the Lionesses will give fans an insight for what’s to come ahead.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

France vs. England lineups, team news

France head coach Laurent Bonadei has turned heads by omitting veterans Wendie Renard and Eugénie Le Sommer from his Euro 2025 squad, opting instead for a younger defensive core. Maëlle Lakrar is expected to partner Griedge Mbock in central defence, while Elisa De Almeida and Selma Bacha will likely take up the full-back roles.

Up front, Bonadei looks set to unleash a dangerous attacking trio of Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Kadidiatou Diani, and Sandy Baltimore, who will shoulder the goalscoring burden in the absence of Le Sommer as France aim to make a strong start to the tournament.

France predicted XI (4-3-3, right to left): Peyraud-Magnin (GK) — De Almeida, Mbock, Lakrar, Bacha — Geyoro, Jean-Francois, Karchaoui — Diani, Baltimore, Katoto.

Injured: None.
Suspended: None.

Sarina Wiegman’s side will be without key figures Mary Earps and Fran Kirby following their recent retirements, while Millie Bright ruled herself out of the competition. Lauren James made her return from injury as a substitute in the 7-0 win over Jamaica but is unlikely to start against France.

Wiegman is expected to keep faith with the same starting XI that dominated Jamaica, featuring a solid back line of Lucy Bronze, Leah Williamson, Alex Greenwood, and Jess Carter. Alessia Russo, fresh off scoring in England’s last two games, will lead the attack, supported by a dynamic midfield and wide options.

England predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Hampton (GK) — Bronze, Williamson, Greenwood, Carter — Stanway, Walsh — Mead, Toone, Hemp — Russo.

Injured: Bright (fitness)
Suspended: None.
