Eyeing to complete the European set, Chelsea is set to take on Real Betis in the high-stakes UEFA Europa Conference League 2024-25 final at the Wroclaw Stadium on Wednesday.
Real Betis is set to feature in their first-ever European final since their last appearance in the quarter-final of the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup back in 1997-98. Under the guidance of boss Manuel Pellegrini, Los Verdiblancos defeated Fiorentina 4-3 on aggregate in the semi-final and booked their spot in the finals of the Europa Conference League.
Pellegrini’s men have already secured their spot in the Europa League next season after finishing sixth on the La Liga leaderboard with 60 points.
Chelsea, on the other hand, are aiming to become the first club to win all four major UEFA trophies. Enzo Maresca’s side reached the final after beating Djurgarden 5-1 in the Conference League semi-final. The Blues also booked their spot in the UEFA Champions League next season after beating their fellow competitor Nottingham Forest 1-0 on the last day show of the Premier League season and finished fifth with 69 points on the points table.
These two clubs last met in the UEFA Champions League 2005-06, where the Blues outperformed Los Verdiblancos with a 4-0 stunning victory at their home and lost 0-1 in the away clash.

Giovani Lo Celso‘s participation is also uncertain, as the 29-year-old Argentine midfielder is recovering from his muscle injury. Youssouf Sabaly‘s fitness is likely to be assessed before the match as the right-back is recovering from a shoulder injury, and his participation will play a key role for the Los Verdiblancos in the absence of already ruled-out Bellerin.
