Alperen Şengün has Turkiye on the verge of its first-ever EuroBasket championship, as a rendezvous with Germany looms in the EuroBasket final on Sunday afternoon.
Şengün dropped a 15-point, 12-rebound double-double to fuel a 94-68 demolition of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Greece in the semifinals. In eight games, Şengün is averaging 20.8 points per game, all victories for Turkiye.
The task won’t be easy against Germany, the third-ranked team in the latest FIBA World Ranking; Turkiye, by comparison, is ranked No. 27. The Germans slipped by Finland, 98-86, in the semifinal matchup behind 22 points from Franz Wagner and 26 points from Dennis Schröder.
Germany is seeking its second consecutive title in a major international basketball tournament, after winning the FIBA World Cup in 2023. The Germans have also won all eight games in the EuroBasket tournament, heading into play on Sunday.
Here’s everything that you need to know about watching the EuroBasket final on Sunday between Turkiye and Germany.
