Hatton was born in Buckinghamshire, England in 1991. As a 19-year-old amateur, he qualified for the 2010 Open Championship.
Hatton joined the European Tour in 2014 and got his first victory on the PGA Tour in 2020 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He joined LIV Golf in 2024.

Hatton has not yet won a major in his career, but he has a top-10 finish to his name in all four majors. He’s made 12 appearances in the Open Championship and 11 appearances in the PGA Championship.
Hatton’s best major finish was at the 2025 U.S. Open, where he finished tied for fourth place with three-over-par. He had the best score of any Englishman in the tournament.

Hatton shares a last name with the late Ricky “Hitman” Hatton, one of British boxing’s greatest exports. However, the two share no actual relation, per LIV Golf. Tyrrell Hatton was born in High Wycombe, a market town that lies about 30 miles from London. Ricky Hatton, meanwhile, lived in Manchester.
