The 2025 AdventHealth 400 returns to Kansas Speedway for another thrilling chapter in the NASCAR Cup Series.
This 400-mile contest, spread across 267 laps, marks the 12th stop on this year’s calendar, and after the fireworks in Texas, there’s plenty of anticipation heading into Sunday’s race.
Joey Logano already punched his playoff ticket last weekend with a statement win at Texas, but Kansas offers a whole different challenge. Unlike the Lone Star State’s slick, single-groove surface, Kansas is known for its multiple racing lanes, which often create intense side-by-side action and late-race drama.
That was never more evident than last May, when Kansas delivered arguably the most jaw-dropping finish in NASCAR history. Kyle Larson and Chris Buescher barreled to the chequered flag in a dead heat, separated by just 0.001 seconds.
It was so close, the timing system initially crowned Buescher before a photo finish confirmed Larson edged him by the thinnest of margins, shattering a 21-year-old record previously held by Ricky Craven and Kurt Busch’s 0.002-second thriller at Darlington. Needless to say, this weekend’s race has big shoes to fill.
Ross Chastain rolls into Kansas with momentum on his side, fresh off a runner-up finish at Texas, his best result of the season, and as the defending race winner at this very track, having taken the checkered flag here last fall.
