The Toronto Maple Leafs are often the biggest show in town.
Not this week. The Toronto Blue Jays are in the World Series, and all of Canada is behind the country’s lone baseball team.
That means a change in schedule for the Maple Leafs.
On Friday night, their puck dropped a half hour earlier in Buffalo to play the Sabres.
And now on Saturday, game time has been moved up even more.

What time do the Maple Leafs play today?
- Date: Saturday, Oct. 25
- Time: 5 p.m. ET
The Maple Leafs host the Sabres a night after Buffalo won on its home ice.
The game was originally scheduled for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
That has been moved up two whole hours to 5 p.m.
That’s because the Blue Jays are home again on Saturday after winning Game 1 on Friday night.
The World Series Game 2 begins at 8 p.m., so the 5 p.m. hockey start staggers things pretty nicely, especially considering how close the two stadiums are located to one another.
Fans could even go from one game to the next if they wanted.
Either way, it’s good synergy by Toronto’s sports teams.
