The Dallas Cowboys dug themselves a mighty hole in the first half against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12, with several self-inflicted wounds like penalties, a fumble, and an interception plaguing Brian Schottenheimer’s team.
But Dallas rallied and erased a 21-0 deficit to win 24-21 in an incredible comeback, but we know playing like that isn’t a sustainable way to live in the NFL.
And Dak Prescott knows it.
As the Kansas City Chiefs emerge on the horizon for Thanksgiving Day, does Dak hope his team starts far better than it did against the Eagles?
“Hell, I sure hope,” Prescott said. “I don’t think anybody planned for the beginning of the game to go that way, sure not how we prepared or our intentions throughout the week. The plan is to be much better than that. Start a lot faster earlier, if we did last week, who knows it would have been a much different game.
“We know how talented and good this team is coming in. We know how important it is to start fast, and that’s our focus.”
More: Cowboys fans will love CeeDee Lamb’s quote after drop-filled game vs. Eagles
Can CeeDee Lamb overcome drops vs. Chiefs?
If the Cowboys are to slay the Chiefs, Lamb can’t be having a handful of drops against Steve Spagnuolo’s defense.
Every opportunity must be taken, because don’t forget, the Chiefs are also fighting for their playoff lives at AT&T Stadium.
With George Pickens in superb form, if Lamb gets hot as he is known to do, Kansas City has to worry about both receivers, not to mention the run game with Javonte Williams. So, Lamb getting targets and more importantly, receptions early is key here.
Maybe Dallas can kill two birds with one stone.
Start fast by feeding 88 the ball.
Sounds simple enough, right?
