While the Slam Dunk Contest gets much of the hype leading into All-Star weekend, it’s the 3-Point Contest that’s typically the most exciting.
Of course, there are exceptions, but it’s thrilling to watch the best shooters in the league knock down shot after shot in such a short span.
Damian Lillard leads this year’s group as he’s looking for his third consecutive 3-Point Contest title. He would become the third player in NBA history to three-peat the event and the third to win at least three titles.
Larry Bird and Craig Hodges are the only others with three titles, and they both won three straight in the mid-1980s and early 1990s.
Jalen Brunson, Cade Cunningham, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Buddy Hield, Cameron Johnson and Norman Powell round out the eight-person group. Notably, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson won’t be a part of the event.
