What channel is Red Sox vs. Braves on today? Time, TV schedule, live stream to watch MLB weekend series

On Friday night, Chris Sale will climb the mound at Fenway Park for the first time since the Red Sox traded him to the Braves following the 2023 season.

Sale, the defending NL Cy Young Award winner, spent parts of six seasons calling Boston home. He steered the club to a resounding World Series title in 2018, earning MVP votes in each of his first two seasons with the Red Sox. Now, he’ll kickstart the three-game series as a visitor.

As the season careens toward Memorial Day — one of the first true measuring sticks of the 162-game marathon — Boston is reaping the benefits of two prized offseason acquisitions. Third baseman Alex Bregman is hitting .314 with 11 home runs, while left-hander Garrett Crochet — Friday night’s starter, opposite Sale — has a 1.93 ERA through his first nine starts.

Still, the Red Sox sit a game under .500, though perhaps the imminent 10-game homestand will fuel a turnaround.

The Braves know a thing or two about midseason turnarounds: On Tuesday night, Atlanta clawed its way to the .500 mark for the first time this season, as it continues to dig its way out of an early-season hole.
