Drivers are preparing for yet another endurance test as the NASCAR Cup Series moves to Nashville Superspeedway for Cracker Barrel 400 after burning rubber in the demanding Coca-Cola 600.
Thanks to a record five overtimes that extended the race by 31 laps, last year’s event in Music City transformed into a marathon, clocking in at an astounding 4 hours, 3 minutes, and 54 seconds. That is the longest overtime grind in the history of the Cup Series.
In 2024, Joey Logano played the long game flawlessly, getting every last drop of gasoline out of his No. 22 Ford to secure a well-deserved victory and secure his postseason spot.
Experienced veterans have recently benefited from Nashville’s concrete surface; in the last six races on comparable courses, Logano, Kyle Larson, and Denny Hamlin have all grabbed the checkered flag.
Kyle Larson is the smoothest person in Nashville when it comes to consistency. Since the Superspeedway returned to the schedule in 2021, the Hendrick Motorsports star is the only Cup driver to record four top-10 finishes. At this location, his average finish of 4.5 is the best in the industry.
Eight drivers have already stamped their postseason tickets with victories as the regular season approaches its midway point. After pushing his way to the top of the Coke 600 and becoming the third first-time winner in the previous four races, Ross Chastain was added to that list.
