After a series of intense joint practices earlier in the week, the Lions and Dolphins will tangle at Ford Field in a preseason game Saturday afternoon.
Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa called out his team after Wednesday’s practice, noting that their performance was “frustrating” and they lacked the “energy” they usually bring. Last weekend, in the preseason opener, Tagovailoa completed five of six passes for 27 yards in his lone drive.
But the six-year pro isn’t expected to take any snaps Saturday, leaving Zach Wilson and rookie Quinn Ewers to split time under center.
As for Detroit, former Tennessee standout Hendon Hooker and Kyle Allen have shared the brunt of preseason snaps. Both players are vying for the backup role to incumbent starter Jared Goff.
