Francisco Lindor and the Mets take on Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers in a rematch of the 2024 NLCS at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night.
Lindor, the runner-up to Ohtani in last year’s NL MVP voting, is once again playing like one of baseball’s premier players. He entered the four-game series with 13 home runs and 2.6 fWAR, both team-highs for the first-place Mets.
As for Ohtani, he’s looking every bit as dominant as he was during his historic 2024 season. The two-way slugger leads the NL with 22 home runs and a .655 slugging percentage, while his 3.2 fWAR is the fourth highest total in MLB.
Ohtani had his way with the Mets in last year’s NLCS, batting .364 with a 1.185 OPS, as the Dodgers captured the pennant in a six-game series.
On Tuesday, Los Angeles is slated to hand the ball to Clayton Kershaw. The future Hall of Famer will make his fourth start of the year opposite Tylor Megill, one of New York’s early unsung heroes.
