Football is officially back, and Week 1 of the 2025 preseason kicks off a fresh chapter for the Saints. After a seven-month hiatus, the Black and Gold return to the gridiron this Sunday afternoon, squaring off against the Chargers at SoFi Stadium.
The Chargers come into the new campaign aiming to pick up where they left off in 2024. They posted an 11-6 record last season and punched their ticket to the playoffs as a wild-card team, though their postseason run was cut short by a 32-12 defeat at the hands of the Houston Texans.
Meanwhile, the Saints are looking to turn the page on a disappointing 5-12 finish that saw them land at the bottom of the NFC South and miss the postseason for the fourth consecutive year. With the new season underway, New Orleans is eager to right the ship and start building momentum early.
