Jaylen Brown stepped up massively in Game 2 without Jayson Tatum on the floor.
The reigning NBA Finals MVP finished with 36 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while shooting 12-of-17 from the field in the win. Boston won 109-100, fending off Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner.
Not many people expected the Celtics to lose to the Magic, but it became slightly more possible with Tatum sidelined with a wrist injury. The 27-year-old was missed, but the rest of the team stepped up in his absence.
Game 3 could be more of the same as Tatum continues to nurse a bone bruise in his right wrist. Al Horford would likely get the start again if Tatum is out.
The series shifts to Orlando now, with the Magic trailing 2-0. Banchero posted 32 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in Game 2, but it wasn’t enough to outlast the Celtics.

Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs series between the Celtics and Magic is set to tip off at 7 p.m. ET from the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida.
The Celtics are the reigning NBA champions and the favorite to win the Eastern Conference again. As long as Tatum’s injury doesn’t keep him sidelined for too long, Boston should be able to make another deep postseason run.
Orlando is still the underdog, but it does have two wins against the Celtics this season. That being said, one was without Tatum in the lineup, and the other was against the Boston reserves.
