The Golden State Warriors are a team looking to get back to the promised land.
The team experienced some mid-season struggles during the 2024-25 campaign, but a strong second half propelled it to a seventh-place finish in the Western Conference. The Warriors went on to clinch one postseason series victory, but they proved to be no match for the Minnesota Timberwolves and were eliminated in a five-game conference semifinal series.
Since then, the Warriors have yet to land to a major name through free agency or the trade market as the organization sorts out a contract situation involving forward Jonathan Kuminga. Seemingly all potential signings have been put on hold until a resolution can be found.
NBA insider Jake Fischer, in a recent Bleacher Report Insider Notebook live show, said that one of the players the Warriors remain interested in acquiring is Malcom Brogdon, who was named the league’s Rookie of the Year for the 2016-17 season while with the Milwaukee Bucks.
“To my understanding, Golden State looked at Brogdon on the trade market back during last season, when the Warriors were looking at options — with De’Anthony Melton as a trade chip — back then, before they went out and traded for Dennis Schröder,” Fischer said. “He’s been on their radar for some time. He’s definitely still on their radar now.”
Brogdon most recently played for the Washington Wizards, appearing in 24 games for the team, In those contests, he averaged 12.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Brogdon’s NBA career has spanned nine seasons, during which he has also played for the Indiana Pacers, Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers.
