Warriors reportedly eyeing new splash bro, teaming Curry up with familiar face

The Golden State Warriors have been extremely quiet this offseason, watching all other teams make moves to improve their roster.

Their main targets have been DeAnthony Melton and Al Horford, but now they have a chance to do something special.

Golden State Warriors and ESPN’s reporter Anthony Slater announced that the team had interest in current unrestricted free agent Seth Curry, brother of Stephen Curry.

“They want some extra shooting, another name I’m hearing with mutual interest is Seth Curry, actually, as a potential bench unit option with a family tie,” Slater said Thursday.

Curry rejuvenated himself last year with the Charlotte Hornets, starting in 14 out of 68 games played, his most since 2016.

Although he isn’t quite the offensive threat his brother is, he has managed to be a career 10-point-per-game scorer.

On top of that, he has been a 43% three-point shooter, with his career high being just last year at 45.6%.

It sounds funny to say, but the Warriors could use another three-point shooter, and Seth is just that.

The two brothers haven’t had the opportunity to play with each other in the NBA, and guys like Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody aren’t exactly replicating what Klay Thompson once was.

If the Dubs are unable to work out a deal with Jonathan Kuminga, Horford, or Melton, they shouldn’t look too far because it seems Seth is the perfect option.
