The Golden State Warriors need some size in the paint. They haven’t had a true starting-level big man in over five seasons. That’s why Warriors trade and free agency rumors have linked the team to multiple centers around the league. This one trade idea from ESPN’s Bobby Marks has the Warriors getting rid of some of their young talent to get a high-risk, high-reward rim-protector.
Bobby Marks wrote in his “NBA free agency 2025: Cap space, best fits for all 30 teams column”, “One move I would make: Trade Moses Moody to the Knicks for Mitchell Robinson …Team needs: Rim protector, frontcourt depth, athleticism, and shooting”
This Knicks-Warriors trade idea makes a ton of sense for both sides.
The Warriors desperately need a center with a defensive presence. The Knicks need more reliable bench depth.
Trading Moses Moody may be a necessary evil for the Warriors. On his contract, and with his constantly improving performance, the Warriors should be reluctant to let him go. However, he is one of the only valuable trade pieces on the roster. Trading Moody’s contract may also be necessary to get any sort of Warriors trade done this summer.
The problem with a Knicks-Warriors trade for Mitchell Robinson is that Robinson, while still young, has a worrying injury history. Over his last five seasons, he has only averaged 42 games played per season.
In his last two seasons, he has only played 31 and 17 games and has seen his minutes and counting stats decline significantly.
That’s why, despite their desperate need for center depth, the Warriors shouldn’t trade Moses Moody for Mitchell Robinson.

Moody has been such a reliable player, and the best is yet to come. Mitchell is too big of an injury risk and may already be on the decline.
