The Golden State Warriors have a decision to make regarding Jonathan Kuminga in the near future, with some suggesting that the team could look to sign and trade him.
Doing so would enable the Warriors to acquire a player who could immediately become a significant upgrade to their current roster.
In a recent trade proposal from Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report, it might be one that works out as well as possible for the Warriors and Kuminga.
The trade would send Kuminga to the Chicago Bulls in a sign-and-trade for Coby White, a guard who has proven to be an above-average scorer in the league.
“Kuminga is a hyper-athletic forward who has flashed dominant foul-drawing potential and two-way impact en route to four-year averages of 12.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists on 50.7 percent shooting in his Golden State career. He also didn’t click with the Warriors’ read-and-react system, often falling out of the rotation for weeks at a time.
“If the Bulls take a chance on Kuminga, who’s still just 22, the Warriors should ask for Coby White. His expiring $12.8 million salary in 2025-26 isn’t large enough to make an extension realistic in Chicago, and his scoring and shot-creation would address Golden State’s most critical weakness,” Hughes wrote.

White is coming off an impressive season, his best yet in the NBA, averaging 20.4 points and shooting 45.3% from the field.
He also knocked down 37.0% of his three-point shots, taking 7.9 per game.
With the way the Warriors run their offense, White would be an excellent addition.
