Warriors predicted to land Bucks star forward in big offseason move

Everyone in the NBA wants to know what Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to do.

In the meantime, the Golden State Warriors would be wise to swoop in for a different Milwaukee Bucks forward.

Bobby Portis can be a free agent (if he declines his $13.4 million player option), and he’d bring the scoring chops that the Dubs could desperately use.

NBA insider Jake Fischer linked the Warriors to Portis in recent reporting, too.

Portis is one of the league’s better bucket getters for a power forward.

This past season, he averaged 13.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 36.5 percent from 3-point range.

Whenever Antetokounmpo sat out, Portis had the tendency to put up huge stat lines.

The Warriors learned last season even more that they struggle to score when Stephen Curry leaves the game. A guy like Portis can help limit that problem.

It’s not as exciting a move as acquiring Giannis, but the Warriors aren’t in position to do that anyway.

Portis would be a solid consolation prize for a team looking to get back to full health and make one last run at an NBA title.
