Warriors predicted to acquire seven-foot big man, help Curry win next championship

Golden State and Stephen Curry have thrived this past decade, even with a constant rotation of below-average starting centers.

Draymond Green is now 35 years old and won’t be able to hold it down forever.

The Golden State Warriors have yet to make a transaction this offseason, but could jump on the chance to make a trade proposed by Fansided’s Christopher Kline to acquire a true center.

“The Golden State Warriors will need to add to their roster before the season starts, as they currently only have nine players under standard NBA contracts,” Kline said Friday.

“(Nick) Richards would give the Warriors another option in the middle — a more traditional rim-runner and shot-blocking type who can set screens for Stephen Curry.”

Nick Richards of the Phoenix Suns faces a difficult challenge, as the Suns have plenty of other guys they would rather play at the center position.

It would cost the Warriors Gui Santos and two second-round picks.

Richards has certainly never been an All-Star-level player, but last season he averaged 9.5 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game.

He would likely become the starting center over players like Quinten Post and Trayce Jackson-Davis, and may have his game elevated by playing alongside Curry and in the Dubs’ system.

Richards shoots 64% from the floor in his career and was a bright spot for the Charlotte Hornets during his five-year tenure with the team.

If Richards can set screens and roll hard to the rim, he would be a great addition to the Warriors’ lineup.
