Warriors predicted to acquire $175 million three-player package from Nets

The Golden State Warriors don’t necessarily need to acquire a second superstar to markedly improve before the trade deadline.

Instead, Golden State could add around the margins, and significantly so if they can pick up two or three legitimate rotational contributors.

That’s exactly what a massive trade with the Brooklyn Nets, would do, as outlined by Fadeaway World’s Eddie Bitar on Wednesday. Bitar envisioned the Warriors acquiring Dorian Finney-Smith, Cam Johnson, and Dennis Schröder from the Nets for a package of Andrew Wiggins, De’Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II, Lindy Waters III, a 2027 first-rounder, and two second-rounders (2026 via Atlanta and 2029).

“This trade, while bold, is a realistic scenario for both teams,” Bitar said.

“The Brooklyn Nets have been in a state of flux, and the idea of moving key veteran assets for a mix of immediate contributors and young prospects makes sense. Moving on from players like Finney-Smith, Johnson, and Schroder would clear the path for more developmental minutes for their younger players while adding a combination of veterans and draft picks that will help them rebuild in the long term.”

“For the Warriors, the motivation to make such a deal is clear. While the cost in terms of talent is significant, the team is in win-now mode, and acquiring players who fit seamlessly into their championship window makes perfect sense.”

“For the Nets, trading away key players for younger assets and draft picks is a smart move as they embrace a rebuilding phase. While the talent they’re losing is valuable, the long-term benefit of gaining flexibility, draft capital, and developmental pieces outweigh the short-term success.”

In lieu (or instead) of adding a Jimmy Butler or a LeBron James, would the above deal be a win for the Warriors as they seek to contend this season?
