When does the 2025 NBA Finals start? It feels like we have been waiting ages for the last leg of this basketball season to finally begin. Because of the downtime, NBA players and fans have had plenty of time to hash and rehash the NBA playoffs and what could have been. Recently, in an interview with Kay Adams, Brandin Podziemski, who was eliminated in the second round with the Golden State Warriors, fired off some hot takes. Brandin Podziemski’s Knicks take specifically has some fans shocked.
When speaking on the 2025 NBA Finals matchup between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers, Podziemski weighed in on why he is happy the Pacers beat the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals.
“I’m glad it was the Pacers, not the Knicks, because I feel like if it was the Knicks, it would have been a sweep… I don’t think the Knicks had enough to compete with OKC both offensively and defensively,” said Podziemski.
Predicting a sweep is a bold move. Brandin Podziemski’s Knicks take is not going to win him any fans in New York, but he doesn’t care.
Podziemski has always not been afraid to speak his mind. His bold personality and confidence are part of the reason why Warriors’ veterans like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green love him so much.
The question is, is he right? Although we will never know, it is interesting to ponder.

Are the Pacers a tougher matchup for the Thunder than the Knicks? Their play style is certainly more equipped for the chaotic play of the Thunder, but they have less veteran experience and star power than New York.
In the end, it won’t matter much. The Thunder are clearly the best team in the league this season, and it looks like they are well-positioned to grab a much-earned NBA championship.
