The NBA never seems to disappoint in its passive-aggressive humor.
The scene: Warriors star Draymond Green was named a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year. Thunder brick wall Lu Dort was not named a finalist.
It’s not a dichotomy that made Dort’s Oklahoma City teammates very happy.
And on Monday, center Isaiah Hartenstein spoke out.
“I might need to get a podcast with Lu, maybe that,” the big lefty said.
That’s definitely a knock on Green.
The Warriors great has a well-listened-to podcast, and he’s spent plenty of time on it campaigning to his own defensive strengths.

Green is certainly one of the most unique defenders in NBA history, a stocky 6-foot-7 forward capable of guarding any position who also is the best conductor from the back line of defense in recent memory.
He’s a bit past his prime, though, and some metrics do agree that Green is a tad overrated as a defender at this point.
The Thunder have been a historic defense, across the board, which may have hurt them in terms of getting one player nominated as a finalist.
At the same time, nominating one guy to represent the whole seems like it could’ve been a good call.
Instead, Dort will just have to let his play in the rest of the playoffs do his talking. We know Green will do plenty of talking on his half of things, too.
